Proof of Citizenship and Identity required
for all Medicaid Applicants and Recipients
On February 8, 2006, President Bush signed the Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) of 2005. One of the mandatory provisions of this act is all applicants and recipients of Medicaid must provide documents establishing United States Citizenship and proof of identify.
This will go into effect in North Carolina September 1, 2006.
